This modernist Jopeko Keramik West German 1950’s pop art vase is a classic timeless shape, it is produced by one of the leading pioneering factories of West German ceramics.
A Pop Art vase in it’s simplest of forms, a near Volcanic Shrink Curdled surface glaze in Black and White with a Matt Black interior. This Shrink Curdled glaze as it is known is very similar in style to Jasba’s Cortina glaze and John Clappison’s Shorline ware which he produced for Hornsea. Both Curdled, Cortina glazes are from the formative years of what was to become the Fat Lava movement. The vase is impressed on the base with shape / model number 589 / 20.
