During the course of the last few years, the market for East German ceramics has steadily increased. Following the collapse of the Berlin Wall, vast arrays of small obscure East German ware’s have slowly but gradually filtered through Europe to the United Kingdom. It is a result of this that Strehla ceramics have rapidly growing in popularity. The vase is hand painted with a primary base Matt Dark Brown / Black Glaze. Surface decoration shows a rotating banded marble style smooth volcanic glaze in hues of Aquamarine and Green. Resting upon this is a hand applied combined horizontal circular outlined textured rotating glaze design in varying colours of Blue.
