Isle of Wight Multicoloured Lollipop Vase with Original Sticker |

Dateline: Circa 1980s |

This is a highly attractive, superb example of a classic vase by the Isle of Wight Studio.
The shape of this vase is in the form of a flattened flask, commonly referred to as a ‘lollipop’. The vase is made in layers, the central aperture for the flower being surrounded by a mottled orange layer, which is in turn within swirls of white, brown, black and yellow. Between this striped and mottled layer and the outer layer of flint glass there are random enclosed bubbles. In addition, the exterior of the vase has a textured rippled effect.
The base is polished flat and has what appears to be a poorly formed impressed flame logo. In addition, the vase bears the original Isle of Wight sticker, which features the same stylised flame logo and reads ‘ISLE OF WIGHT GLASS HAND MADE ENGLAND’.
The impressed flame logo was in use between 1974 and 1982, and the triangular sticker was used during the 1980s. This would therefore date the vase to be 1980 and 1982.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
Condition: Perfect
Dimensions: The maximum height of this piece is about 17.0cm, with a maximum width of about 14.0cm.
