Waterford 'Royal Tara' Design Wine Decanter |

Dateline: Late 20th Century |
Item# 35038 |

|
This is a superb wine decanter in the ‘Royal Tara’ design by Waterford Crystal.
The decanter has an everted rim, with a neck that tapers in slightly and then broadens out to the shoulder. The neck and upper part of the shoulder is cut with eight elongated facets with a curved upper surface and a triangular base.
Between these facets, at the widest point of the shoulder is a row of eight ‘diamond’ shaped facets, whose four sides are slightly curved. Below this are two rows of staggered hexagonal facets, forming a honeycomb effect.
The last row of cutting consists of facets that are pentagonal and have straight sides that extend into the base. The base is etched with the maker’s mark, which reads ‘WATERFORD’.
The stopper is circular. The lower part above the peg curves downwards and is attached to the peg via a short cylindrical collar and then a small neck. The upper surface of the stopper is cut with eight triangular facets, which curve upwards to a central point.
Condition: Excellent
Dimensions: The total height of the decanter from the base to the top of the stopper is approximately 33.5cm.
