Napoleon 111 period gilt ormolu box with a central enamel plaque of a beautiful woman. Fully marked to the base and to the plush velvet lining, “Lota” Paris France.
The chased floral design of the sides is superb, as is the flower head motif of the top
which is overlaid with a leaf decal. The stunning enamel plaque to the centre of the lid
also bears the name of Lota Paris. Such boxes are increasingly difficult to find, so I am pleased to be able offer this from my own collection.
