AN AUSTRIAN BRONZE SIGNED BY “G. JAEGG”. THIS AUSTRIAN BRONZE DATES FROM AROUND 1900. A REALLY DELIGHTFUL STUDY OF A YOUNG BOY SEATED ON WALL BY A GATE EATING AN APPLE. HE CLUTCHES A SECOND APPLE IN HIS OTHER HAND. DRESSED IN LEDERHOSEN AND A FEATHERED CAP, HE IS BAREFOOT BUT STILL SPORTS FOOTLESS HEAVY SOCKS. A NEAT SIZE TO COMPLIMENT SUCH A CUTE SUBJECT.
MARBLE BASE 87mm X 65mm X 20mm
BRONZE 100mm X 74mm X 50mm.
AS CAN BE SEEN IN PICTURE 4, A PORTION OF THE FILLER USED IN THE PRODUCTION OF THIS CAST BRONZE HAS BEEN MISSING FOR SOME TIME, BUT DOES NOT DETRACT AS IT IS ON THE BACK AND NEVER DISPLAYED.
