A No.1 Toby Jug by one of the oldest family of potters in Staffordshire, Wood & Sons of Burslem. This Toby is wearing a reddish-brown coat, yellow waistcoat and green Knee-breeches. He is holding a mug of beer in one hand and his clay pipe in the other. He dates from c. 1907 to 1910. ('Ltd' was added to the company's backstamp on incorporation in 1910 so it cannot have been made later than that year)
