This is a pair of highly decorative ceramic candlesticks made by Mintons and probably dating to the first quarter of the 20th century.
The candlesticks are hollow with an underlying off-white ceramic body. They are decorated in a pink glaze with an overlaid transfer print of stylised flowers and a trailed ribbon design. Detail has been picked out in gilt.
The base is marked with the Mintons crown and globe logo. This particular mark was in use from 1912 to 1950. In addition, one of the candlesticks has been marked by hand with the figures ‘AS T925’.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is some crazing to the glaze.
Condition: Excellent
Dimensions: Each piece has a height of approximately 16.0cm, with a diameter at the rim of about 5.2cm.
