A stunning Carlton Ware coffee service dating from the 1950's in the Rouge Royale range which was in production from the 1930's. The set is decorated with oriental buildings and landscape including beautifully depicted birds, flowers and trees on a deep red ground. The handpainted enamel decoration is complimented with gilt design and highlights. The interior of the pieces is gilt underglaze and the coffee jug and milkjug have mother-of-pearl interiors. The service comprises six cups, six saucers, milk jug, lidded sugar bowl and coffee jug. The set seems to have been displayed but not used. A wonderful set, rarely found complete as this one is and in such good condition. (Please enquire for shipping outside of the UK as weight will be 2.8K fully packed and will need courier delivery).
