Capo Di Monte style teaset made during the late 1940's-50s. Probably from an old Capo Di Monte mold. The set consists of: teapot, creamer, sugar bowl and cover and 4 x cups, saucers and plates; all with molded relief figures, flora and birds. All pieces have a gilt rim and a gilt edged pink continuous dot border. The bottom of each standing piece resembles a pale yellow flower outlined in red with a gilt foot rim and the bodies have a continuous frieze of cherubs amongst flowers, shrubs and reeds. A wide range of colours are used throughout. The yellow handles are outlined in red, are nicely arched with raised central gilt dots (for grip) and 2 molded scrolls. The teapot is rounded and the end of its molded spout resembles a serpent with gilt eyes. The lid has a small cherub figurine as a knop surrounded by floral swags as has the lid for the sugar bowl. The top of the helmet shaped creamer, the inside of the cups and the saucer centers, all have gilt "faux" glaze crazing. The saucer and plate centers have the yellow flower around them. The outer rim on the saucers has a ring of floral swags and bows. On the plates the base for the swags is solid gilt. All pieces are fully signed.
