This is a rarity indeed. A true Regence Club set of great quality and condition. The White King is 10.5cm and what is glorious and very much in Regence tradition. The knights are towering 10cm. Everything is quality .The rooks are double towers, the knights have glass eyes. The knights are well carved and I believe the Black pieces to be of rosewood or ebony. The white pieces are in boxwood or similar and the condition is excellent. The black knights are carved from stained boxwood (I think). There is a minor chip to one rook turret and a minor chip to the collar of the black pawn. In my opinion this is a 19th century / early 20th century set, not 18th century set.
