This is a wonderful plastic chess set of the highest quality. Red and White, the pieces are either one piece (pawns) or two piece with screwed bases. Glass eyes to the knights and clearly made to reproduce the quality and method of constructing the good ivory sets. I bought this as a Jaques Set and board. I have no reason to doubt that and the board is imprinted "Jaques London". It is post second world war. 8.5cm king and sold as set box and board. The board is 18" with 2" squares. In our opinion this is a fantastic entry level chess set and board for anyone who wants to move onto the fine wooden and ivory sets at a later stage.
