SONGS OF THE GLENWOOD MISSION INN Riverside California |

THE GLENWOOD MISSION INN, had Frank A Miller as Master of the Inn. One can assume that of an evening there would be a tuneful gathering and certainly just about every nationality could find a song to remind him of home. Starting with THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER which of course would be sung by all, representing the persecuted who had fled to a new life, we move on to Columbia, the Gem of the Ocean. Again words and music. National songs of Germany and Denmark follows, Holland and Norway. And so it goes on, music and words and an illustrated border around each song and statements by various prominent persons of the day. There are many photographs of the Inn as it was in those days, reminding one of its original purpose, a Spanish Mission. It was an hotel then and remains so today. This is a rare piece of American Christian history and there is a picture of the Shrine of St Francis, the Patron Saint of the Mission Inn.
