An American made railroad grade pocket watch. These watches were made to a very high standard & were approved for use on American railroads. The gold filled case has screw on front & rear covers, there is some wear to the plateing at the lower edge. The rear cover is marked DUEBER WARRANTED 20 YEARS. The bevelled glass is very good, some surface scratches. The dial is the Montgomery type, with each minute numbered. There is an edge chip between 31 & 34 this is not visible when the bezel is in place. There is a lever at the 6 minute position, pulling this out & turning the crown allows the time to be set, these were always under the bezel on railroad watches so that the hands could not be accidentally moved. The very high grade movement is marked Bunn Special ILLINOIS WATCH Co SPRINGFIELD. 21 JEWELS. ADJUSTED TEMP AND SIX POSITIONS. DOUBLE ROLLER. It has the serial number 3896937 which dates the watch to 1921. Running well & keeping good time.
