A men's Longines Ultra-Chron gold automatic wristwatch with date in excellent condition.This is the rarer rectangular version of the watch, cased in solid 14 carat gold. There are no personal engravings, the rear is marked 14 KARAT GOLD. REMOVE BEZEL TO USE 1225 WRENCH. The bezel is snap on, the original shaped glass has some minor scratches. A special tool is needed to access the movement. It is running well & keeping good time. This is a very good example of 1970s styling.
The Longines Ultra-Chron automatic high-beat-rate wristwatch was introduced in 1967 to mark the 100 year anniversary of the company which was founded in 1867. Longines went on to produce several variations of the Ultra-Chron, including different case shapes, between 1967 and 1975. High-beat watches were intended to provide greater consistency of rate in different positions and be more isochronous.

Dimensions: 1,1/4" (32mm) across excluding the crown.
