A rare pre WW1 18 carat gold Borgel cased men's wristwatch. The case has the London import hallmark for 1911, the Borgel key logo & the casemakers mark AB. It is in very good condition, there are 2 small dents on the side, lower edge near the 9, hardly noticeable when worn on the wrist, the rear is engraved G.C 13 Sept 1913 from E.C. The milling around the bezel is excellent. The enamelled dial is excellent (marks on the picture are reflections). The Swiss made 15 jewel lever movement is running well & keeping good time. The Borgel case was an early form of damp & dust proofing, the movement, dial & bezel can be screwed out as a single unit when the winding stem is pulled outwards. The hands are pin set, to move the hands, push in the pin at the edge near 2 & turn the crown.
