A Georgian pair cased verge pocket watch in excellent condition. The heavy gauge silver cases have no dents or engravings, both have the London hallmark for 1799 & the case makers mark IC. Both hinges close firmly & evenly. The inner case has a rotating disc over the keyhole. The 'bullseye' glass is very good, there is a small blemish to the right of the 9. The dial is excellent, some minor scratches. The verge movement is marked Thos Hitchins Rodborough 827. (Rodborough is in Gloucestershire to the south of Stroud). The ornately pierced balance cock has a grotesque face above the foot. It is running well & keeping good time for an 18th century verge, within 30 minutes per day.

Dimensions: 2,1/8" (53mm) diameter excluding the stem.
