WW1 men's military style silver wristwatch. |

A First World War men's wristwatch in very good condition. This is the type of watch bought by Officers for use in action during the war as very few War Department watches were issued so Officers were expected to use their own. The silver case has a smooth finish with no engravings or inscriptions. The front cover is snap-on & the rear cover is hinged in the style of a pocket watch, both close firmly & evenly. It has the London import hallmark for 1914 & the case makers mark G.S. The glass is very good with just some small scuffs. The enamel dial retains some of the original luminous paint infill although no longer luminous after nearly 100 years. The Swiss made lever movement runs well & keeps good time.

Dimensions: 1,5/16" (33mm) diameter excluding the winding crown & strap lugs.
