WW1 silver wristwatch. |

A first world war wristwatch of the type bought privately, usually by officers, for use on active service during the war. The silver case is very good, no engravings, some minor nicks. The rear cover has the London import hallmark for 1915 & the casemakers mark GS. The dial is excellent with no hairlines, there are small holes in the chapter ring next to each hour, these would originally have been filled with luminous paint. The lever movement is marked SWISS MADE it is running well & keeping good time. The hands are pin-set, to move the hands, push in the pin on the edge at IIII & turn the crown.

Dimensions: 1,1/4" (32mm) diameter excluding crown & lugs.
