A second world war wristwatch by Waltham. Made in the USA & imported to the UK for use by RAF pilots. The chrome plated case is very good, it has some minor scratches & pitting. The screw-on rear cover is marked 6B/234 A1530 with the War Department arrow. (6B/234 was the Air Ministry code for a substitute standard pilot's wristwatch, the mark also follows repair/reissue. 1939-1945) The dial is excellent. The 'glass' is a perspex replacement. The movement has the original dustcover & o-ring. The movement is marked WALTHAM U.S.A 6/0 '42 16 JEWELS & has the serial number 31545355. Running well & keeping good time. It is fitted with a new 16mm leather strap.
