A vintage necklace with natural Lapis Lazuli stones alternating with pearls, knotted in between and fastening with a fancy stars 14ct gold clasp. The graduating polished Lapis stones in varying shapes, are deep blue with speckles of gold and beautifully complimented by the pearls. Lapis lazuli is as lovely as its exotic name, a semi-precious stone that has been prized since antiquity for its rich blues sprinkled with specks of gold aventurine. The rectangular clasp is decorated with 3 little stars on a background of textured gold and the back has an openwork flower with 14K clearly stamped. This is a lovely necklace, which transcends all ages, a one-off hand made original vintage piece from mid 20th century or earlier. The Lapis graduate to approx 15mm x 10mm. Length 26 1/4" (67 cm). Fastens with very secure 14K Gold clasp.
