CUT CRYSTAL BEER STEIN TANKARD WITH ORNATE PLATED LID |

An impressive clear cut crystal beer stein of tapered form with applied loop handle, decorated with alternate panels of of hobnail and paisley scrollwork, below a silver plate cover and thumb-piece with foliate engraved and relief moulded decoration. The under-base is embellished with diamonds and fans between grid work. C19th, probably German, small stamp underneath the thumb piece "R. Stegmann". Dimensions based on centimetres and rounded to nearest quarter inch.

Dimensions: height 17.5cm/7in, diameter 9.5cm/3.75in.
