This is a highly unusual glass jug dating to the mid 19th century.
The body is mouth blown, but formed with the aid of an implement.
The body is formed of six lobes. The rim is scalloped. Around the neck is a continuous thin, thread like applied trail of glass. This will have been done by hand and the technical expertise required must have been enormous. The handle was applied after the trailing process.
Incredibly this has survived undamaged for about 160 years.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.

Dimensions: It has a height of approximately 8.8cm and has a diameter at the rim of about 4.0cm.
