This is a pair of beautifully cut high quality lead crystal wine glasses, probably dating to about 1870.
The bowl is decorated with a panel consisting of two rows of hobnail cuts. Below this is a ring of deep vertical thumb cuts. The base of the bowl is cut with six petals, which extend downwards onto the upper part of the stem. The stem is cut with a staggered ‘honeycomb’ pattern of facets. The foot is plain and polished out, forming a slight depression in the centre.
Each glass has a height of approximately 12.8cm, with a diameter at the rim of about 5.3cm and at the foot of about 6.1cm.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
