This is a pair of good quality lead crystal pan champagne glasses, probably dating to about 1880.
The pan shaped bowl is cut with two series of thumb cuts – fourteen large just below the rim and fourteen smaller below the intervening spaces at the base of the bowl.
The stem is hexagonally faceted, with the facets continuing onto the upper part of the ‘knop’. Below this is a series of six further facets, which are staggered in respect of the upper series. There is a small flat collar between the lower part of the stem and the flat foot. This is polished out and is slightly concave in the centre.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
