Regency Highly Cut Lead Crystal Punch Bowl |

This highly cut piece is typical of late Regency or very early Victorian glass, dating to around 1820 to 1830.
The large bowl has a broad flattened scalloped rim, tapering in and then out again to a ‘shoulder’. At the ‘shoulder’ there is a pair of deep circumferential wedge cuts. Below this is a wide panel of faceted diamonds in relief. The bowl stands on a wide capstan stem, below which is a thick discoid collar. The foot is octagonal and star cut underneath.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. There are some wear and tear scratches in the base of the bowl, most likely the result of the sugar being ground before the liquid was added.
Condition: Very Good
Dimensions: Height 17.0cm. Diameter at the rim of 16.5cm and at the foot of about 8.8cm.
