This is a pair of stunning high quality lead crystal rummers, dating to about 1820.
The bucket shaped bowl has a thickened base and is cut with a continuous band of narrow ovals cuts in its lower half. There is a small collar at the junction of the bowl and plain stem and also where the stem meets the foot. The latter is flat and has a central polished out pontil.
One glass has a height of approximately 13.6cm, with a diameter at the rim of about 8.2cm and across the foot of about 8.0cm. The other glass has a height of approximately 13.0cm, with a diameter at the rim of about 8.5cm and across the foot of about 7.8cm.
Although there are obvious discrepancies in size, it must be borne in mind that these items were handmade and minor differences in dimensions were accepted by the Georgians.
Condition: Excellent
Dimensions: One is height 13.6cm, diameter at rim 8.2cm and foot 8.0cm. Other is height 13.0cm, diameter at rim
