Telescope early 1800s with rare tapered mahogany barrel.... .. ..single draw.........the length closed is 26ins and at "focus" point approximately 30ins.........the metalwork has been lightly cleaned and the wood waxed. Sliding metal shades protect lens at the "objective" and "pull" end. These should be withdrawn when focusing. If you should happen to visit Greenwich Museum, look out for similar telescopes on display.
