A charming Mintons pottery plate hand painted with the colourful family scene of Mother teddy bear surrounded by her children, her youngest perched on her knee, as she read to them from a storybook 'Adventures'. The whole happy scene is surrounded by Minton's Vandyke printed pattern border with a lustred rim and hand gilded accents. The artist initials JA in cursive script are painted to the inner rim.
Fully marked to base with impressed Mintons mark, date code for 1907, registration lozenge for original design date of the Vandyke border for 1859 and hand painted pattern in red close to footrim.
