A Rare Cranberry glass Mary Gregory Scent Bottle. This beautiful piece of hand blown glass is decorated with a rare scene of a young boy walking through a woodland glen. As you can see on the bottle the enamelling is in excellent condition, the detail on the fence, bushes and trees is exquisit, even the birds in the distance are beautifully executed. Then as you turn the bottle around, there is more decorating to the back of the bottle. Here there is a flock of birds flying away in the distance. Below the birds is a long flower sprig. The reason this piece is rare, is the fact thats its a boy on a ladies scent or perfume bottle. The stopper is original to the bottle, you can see the stopper has retained some of its original gilding. The scent or perfume bottle has a great colour, its a more deeper cranberry than some of the paler pieces. The size of this pretty bottle is 12cm to the top of the glass stopper. The diameter of the bottle's body is approx 7.5cm. If you collect scent bottles, then this is a must have item. It dates from the late 1880's
