A Hand Painted Saucer Dish |

A fine, hand painted, porcelain saucer dish dating to around 1810. The centre decorated with a bunch of brightly coloured flowers. Two further panels of flowers either side in elongated reserves. The ground colour, of dark blue, overlaid with fine gilding and divided by two further reserves of a buff/orange colour, again overlaid with gilding. This piece is unfortunately unmarked, but is of sufficient quality to have been produced by one of the more prominant factories of the period. Saucer dishes were usually supplied in two sizes as part of a tea/coffee set. They were intended for biscuits, cakes, etc.
