English Tea Cup and Saucer |

A fine porcelain tea cup and saucer dating to around 1840. The white ground is decorated with alternating groups of gilt stems and leaves, and smaller red flowers and leaves. The rims of both the cup and saucer are finished with a gilt 'dontil' edge. The saucer bears the pattern number, 457, in red. Unfortunately it has not been possible to ascribe this group to a particular factory, however they are of fine quality, with pleasingly restrained decoration.
Condition: Excellent
Dimensions: Cup 6.8cm high x 8.0cm diameter, excluding the handle. The saucer 14.0cm in diameter.
