Finely Painted 'Old English' Tea Cup and Saucer |

A porcelain cup and saucer made in Staffordshire around 1830. Of 'Old English' shape and decorated with a peach ground, overlaid with fine gilt vases of flowers and interspersed with scroll edged reserves each containing finely painted flowers in bright enamel colours. The centre of the saucer and the inside of the cup each embelished with a fine, pink rose. The quality of the painting suggests one of the major Staffordshire factories, possibly Ridgway, but with the lack of any identifying marks, sadly this piece must remain unattributed.
Condition: Very Good
Dimensions: Cup: 4.7cm high x 9.4cm in diameter. Saucer: 15.0cm in diameter
