A rare sauce tureen from Francis Morley & Co Staffordshire 1845-58 - (formerly Ridgway & Morley). This lidded tureen is the earliest dating to1845. The tureen is decorated in a slate blue version of the Aurora transfer pattern with additional handpainted polychrome colours of pink, iron red, green and yellow with gilded highlights. The footed tureen has embossed branch form handles with matching finial. The tureen is offered in excellent condition; has impressed mark with Registration Lozenge for 1845 and blue undglaze no. 6611 and other marks.
