John Nost Sartorius son of the Artist Francis. Born 1759 and died 1828. Famous for his depiction of Hunting Scenes. "Gone Away" shows a "Hunt" in full flow. Horses ,dogs and the fox amidst the rolling countryside in Autumn. The colours are bright and clear, the dogs fierce. The horses handsome and the fox crafty. All you could want from an early English Hunting scene.
