Montague Dawson considered by many to be one of the finest 20c Marine Artists. He lived at Smugglers House, Southampton Water before joining the Royal Navy at the start of WW1. He lived at Milford on Sea, exhibiting at the R.A. between 1916 - 1936. Dying in Sussex in 1973.This print taken from the painting "Salt Spray" depicts the yacht "Mokota" racing another yacht. Dawson catches the wind and the waves perfectly and in doing so has produced a very lively piece.
