Montague Dawson considered by many to be our finest Marine Artist of the 20c. He lived as a young boy at Smugglers House, Southampton Water. In WW1 he joined the Royal Navy and then moved to Milford on Sea. Exhibiting at the R.A. between 1916 - 1936. He died in Sussex in 1973. A beautiful print from the painting "The Greatest Race" depicting two yachts Rainbow and Endeavour in the Americas Cup Race. He has caught the waves and the wind perfectly. A great picture for anybody interested in sailing and boats and a great historical moment caught forever.
