A fine silver platter. Hallmarked London. William & John Fisher |

A really fine solid silver plate. There is a shallow bowl to the centre. The design is stunning, with wheat sheaves intersecting gadrooning on the edge. The makers' mark is that of William and John Fisher, slightly incomplete but easily reconisable. This fine item has recently been appraised. Further information is available concerning the armorials if requested. There appears to be a connection with the Boyle family (Scottish), but this would have to be researched still further. The plate is in excellent condition and really is a very fine piece of silver. There is just a very small amount of surface scratching, and obviously there are scratches from proper use, which I feel enhance the character of the plate. The plate weighs approximately 540 grams or roughly 17.4 Troy Ounces. Its diameter is just under 25cm. Please view the four photographs available here very carefully to gain an appreciation of the quality of this item. The seller can send further images to a genuinely interested potential buyer.
