Six High Quality Dining Forks: 1822: Superb!!! |

Dateline: Dated 1822 |

Maker: Jonathan Hayes with a Maker's Mark which was registered in 1808. These are the best six forks I have probably owned!! They are absolutely superb and in excellent order. They are the full King's Pattern design*, with a shell just below the start of the tines. They are fully Hallmarked for London, 1822, with the Monarch's Head (George IV) as Duty Mark. The six forks are wonderfully heavy and the tines are so thick and strong that they are unlikely to be worn down easily. These really are Dining or Banquet forks! They would make a fantastic present or are a wonderful way of beginning a collection or canteen. They are unbelievably heavy: rounded to the nearest gram: 107g; 105g; 104g; 102g; 101g; 101g. This is a rare opportunity to acquire some very high quality heavy Georgian forks!!!! So far, they show few signs of wear. I am pleased to say they have been used, and those day-to-day marks of use will eventually produce a further patina. At present, there is very little surface scratching. * Please Note that this is the King's Honeysuckle Variant Design.
Condition: Excellent
Dimensions: Just over 20cm in length. Weight: See above. About 620 grams!!!
