A Britannia Plate Egg Coddler by William Hutton & Sons, silversmiths of Birmingham, Sheffield and London. About 1900 in date. Complete with inner four-egg rack with handle but missing its original burner which would have sat on the bottom of the stand. The body is engraved with a floral design and is supported on three curved legs terminating in pad and ball feet. The base is stamped with the maker's name, "BPA1", "Hard Soldered" and the number 20259. Also stamped into the base is the number 4 and an eight-pointed star.
Condition: Good
Dimensions: 8 1/2 inches (20cm) tall overall and 4 1/2 inches (11cm) diameter.
