A beautiful and original Art Nouveau antique mirror in the shape of a parchment or ancient tablet and crafted in slightly concaved solid wood of the period. The mirror is decorated with a maiden with long flowing hair emerging from a trumpet-like flower and surrounded by vines and foliage. The featured maiden reminiscent of the figure in 'Poetry' by Art Nouveau artist and sculptor Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939). The shaped mirror section attached is clear and without ageing and in its original condition. There is a later hook for hanging attached to the back and evidence of small holes in the top where it must have been hung originally. In very good antique condition with wear consistent with age.
