A silver necklace from the Arts & Crafts period with an intricate cutout open work panel set with gemstones. In the centre is a large oval Chrysoprase cabochon and set around it are 3 of each smaller oval Chrysoprase and Opals. The opals are a pearly iridescent with rainbow flashes which change appearance with the angle of view. The Chrysoprase gemstones are an opalescent apple green colour. Chrysoprase is the rarest of the chalcedony or quartz family and derives its colour from the nickel content. Silver filigree beads adjoined by a jade bead at either side highlight the fancy chain of long and short twisted links. Measuring: Pendant 1 1/2 x 1 1/2" (39 x 39 mm). Chain 18 1/2" (47cm). Silver chain with hook clasp. A highly collectible antique necklace in good condition all stones intact.
