BIRD'S PASTRTY & SWEETS BOOK priced at 1/- was printed to celebrate the 100 years of the company and gives a brief description of its activities and progress during that time. It gives a full list of their products within the pastry and sweets range, and in fact the flavour range of the individual products was much greater than it is today. For instance Blanc Mange came in 6 popular flavours, I can only recall Raspberry, Chocolate, Vanilla and Lemon and most of these are not readily available now. Jelly-de-luxe has sadly gone, it looked a superior product. Lots of illustrations, 101 recipes in all. Some would find a place on the modern dinner table but Strawberries and Custard, probably not.
