An antique black silk parasol with foliage pattern, silver stripes and silver end cap. The fabric is black silk with a sheen, silver stripes and larges leaves decoration. The material has some thinning now appearing in places with tiny pin size holes but no tears. The silver decoration has some fading and loss to the finish particularly in the creases where it closes. The frame is black metal with black wooden post topped with a silver knob handle. The silver knob is hallmarked for 1899 and shows wear with some rubbing and dings. The parasol is a rare find in good condition considering its great age and would make a unique and unusual visual feature. Length: 36 ins (92cm). Open diam.: 32 ins (81cm) approx.
