Vintage Parasol Umbrella in Ivory and Gold with Decorative Handle |

A vintage autumn golden and pastels shades parasol in cotton with black spokes and decorative handle. Made by Hoyland British makers with marked label inside. The fabric is heavy textured cotton in golden beige with leaves and foliage in reds and green pastel shades. The wooden pole is very sturdy and the handle is a kind of moulded plastic in ivory with a look of carved bone. The very attractive handle shows a young girl holding flowers sitting under a rose bush or tree. The black spokes have tortoiseshell plastic tips and the handle accessorised by brown cord and toggles. In very good condition, it opens and closes well, with no tears or holes and only marks in the creases and fading to be expected with age. A rare find and great period piece, the parasol would make a unique and unusual visual feature. Length: 62 cm (24.5"). Open diam: 74 cm (29") approx. Circa 1920-40s.
