STUNNING RARE ART DECO CZECH EGYPTIAN REVIVAL BACCHUS NECKLACE |

This massive, heavy collar is one of the most dramatic and exciting pieces of Czech jewellery that I've seen. The theme is the Childhood of Bacchus. The pendant drop depicts him dancing amongst the grapes and is featured to the front and reverse of the drop. Interspersed with Egyptian lotus panels and more classical floral panels are five panels depicting Bacchus riding a butterfly, a lioness (2), a dolphin and centrally above the pendant, a lion. These panels are on a gilded background. The piece is set throughout with blue glass stones in imitation of lapis lazuli. A truly stunning nexklace and a rare find.
