A glug glug Decanter with applied glass and a solid silver neck |

Here we have a quite outstanding 'glug glug' Decanter from the famous quality Birmingham firm Hukin and Heath. They have several 'makers marks': this one was registered in May 1938, and the other Hallmarks are consistent with a date for the jug of 1938/1939. An unusual feature is the applied additional pink glass 'piping', in circles around the jug. This makes it especially suitable for red wine (!!), but this may not have been intended. The main glass and the pink glass circlres have all stood up extremely well to the test of time, The rim/neck is Hallmarked solid silver. The stopper is undamaged. A really spectacular item for use or display ...!

Dimensions: Capacity is in excess of 750ml. Height with stopper approx. 27.5cm.
