This is a very good quality example of a 1930s Czechoslovakian blue flashed vase.
The vase is of classical form, with an ovoid body, round shoulder and everted rim. It is made in two layers – an inner flint with an overlaid cobalt blue.
The latter has been cut through to form a pattern. The rim is notched and the short neck is cut with a continuous series of vertical panels. Just below the shoulder is a ring of large circular cuts. Below this is a lattice formed by two rows of large interlocking criss-crosses, such that the upper row of circles sits above the upper arms of the criss-crosses. Within each diamond shaped panel, formed between adjacent criss-crosses, is a further circular cut. Above and below the centre of each criss-cross is a three-pointed fan. As the body of the vase tapers in toward the base it is cut with a series of tall arched facets. The base is in flint glass.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
Condition: Excellent
Dimensions: It has a height of approximately 21.0cm, with a diameter at the rim of about 8.8cm and at the base o
