Historic Yorkis an advertising poster, designed in 1956 for BRITISH RAILWAYS .York Minster appears in the centre surrounded by a composite scene of York's most historic buildings. In the clouds are ghostly images of 22 historic figures associated with the history of York. A border of heraldic shields of the principal families associated with the city. Most of these shields can be found inside York Minster either in the stain glass windows or as carved and coloured wall plaques. The border design is completed by the inclusion of the White Rose of York. Designed by E H Spencer RSA. One of Britain's fairest cities.1000 pieces
