Here are the signatures of the two crews in the 1935 Oxford & Cambridge University Boat Race. Oxford was in the midst of a sequence of many losses, and this race only continued the long run of Cambridge successes - Cambridge won by 4.5 lengths in 19 minutes and 48 seconds. (Please also view other Boat Race Listings, which are gradually coming on stream.) The signatures are on Universiity headed notepaper. These have then been mounted on paper for display.The Cambridge sheet show some foxing - the Oxford sheet is virtually clear of foxing. Please note that there has been interest in the Stroke of the 1935 Cambridge crew - surname Laurie and a relative of a famous actor. Valuable facts about these men and the race can be discovered in the many books abour the Boat Race, for example Gordon Ross' book The Boat Race (London, 1956, The Sportsmans Book Club). Additionally, the postcard photos of the Oxford crew are included in this sale.
